Synthesis, Characterization and Reactivity of Organic Compounds and Biomolecules
The design, synthesis and isolation of molecules and the study of their properties and reactivity are all key steps in the development of contemporary chemistry. This research area is focussed on the synthesis and characterisation of organic molecular systems of biological interest, with particular emphasis on studies which seek to create a fundamental understanding for the design, synthesis and characterisation - including structural characterisation - of functional organic molecular systems and of macromolecular systems, such as proteins.
