Stability and stabilization of native and immobilized enzymes for industrial applications
Research Area:
Enzymes in industrial processes must work under conditions distant from the physiological ones. Moreover, enzymes need to be immobilized on solid support for acting as heterogeneous bio-catalyst and being recycled. Research aims to identify methods for stabilizing enzymatic proteins through optimal formulation and immobilization. The study stems from the analysis of structural and conformational properties and the analysis of the micro-environment of the protein. That allows the development of optimal immobilization and formulation protocols. (collaboration with SPRIN S.r.l.)
