The efficiency and selectivity of diagnostic devices and affinity chromatography methods relies on the correct orientation of biomolecules immobilized on the solid supports. Therefore, understanding structural and molecular basis of ligand-protein recognition is a pre-requisite. Molecular modeling is of aid in investigating molecular recognition and in the development of optimized chemical procedure for efficient binding of bio-molecules on surfaces.
