Research.com: Maurizio Prato tops the Italian ranking for Materials Science and Chemistry

New important recognition for Maurizio Prato, professor of Organic Chemistry at the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Trieste: in the ranking of the best researchers published by Research.com, in the discipline of Materials Science he ranks first in Italy (157th in the world), while in the discipline of Chemistry it is in 2nd place (141st in the world), with a D-Index of 132.
Position in the ranking is determined by each researcher's Discipline-H Index (D-Index), calculated on data collected from multiple sources including OpenAlex and CrossRef, which are the most important and well-known bibliometric databases available. The D-Index provides that only publications and citations relating to a specific discipline are considered. For the Materials Science area, the profiles of 17,130 researchers were examined, while 43,378 were examined for Chemistry.
According to the Research.com ranking, the University of Trieste is ranked 573rd among universities worldwide and 31st among Italian universities with 29 scientists. Of these 29 scientists, 8 belong to the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
